The home crowd at Wrigley Field have had a lot to cheer about this season (especially after clinching a playoff berth when the Brewers beat the Cardinals 2-1 last night), but even as their team heads for the postseason for an incredible fourth year in a row, there's still one more underdog - or rather, under'rat' - Cubs' fans got to cheer for.
A rodent with some serious determination won over fans' hearts at Wrigley Field on Wednesday night after several people in the outfield seats noticed the rodent trying to leap from the fencing above the ivy and onto the outfield wall.
When the #WrigleyRallyRat gets the biggest cheer of the night? I think it was rigged by the piRATes! It’s been a rough game! @barstoolsports @BarstoolBigCat @Deadspin @SarahSpain pic.twitter.com/H8PrgnLqtI— Will Byington (@willbyington) September 26, 2018
Eventually, the third time was the charm for the #WrigleyRat as he made it over the ledge, landing on the grass between the stands.
Godspeed Wrigley Rat. Hopefully you're not living anywhere near the concession stands.
