The Los Angeles Dodgers won their second straight World Championship on Saturday night adding fuel to the fire of criticism that they are only winning because of their seemingly bottomless pocketbook and it is ruining baseball. DP thinks the opposite is true and it will instead inspire other owners to spend more money which can only be good for the league.
Dan Patrick: “I know we look at the Dodgers; people probably look at them and they're the now, you know, they're the villains, but they shouldn't be viewed that way, in my opinion. I know that it's a checkbook that's always open, but there is financial imbalance in baseball, but I would hope that this spurs other teams to spend more money. The Dodgers will be favored to win again next year, but you've gone back-to-back, you got three in five years; the Dodgers may be what baseball does need, and that is spending money.”
