Jason Smith: “It was a bad night for the Mavericks in the win-loss column, but it was a good night for them because now is the first time as a franchise where they can feel they’ve hit bottom. This was the final bit that they were looking forward to getting past. This was the moment where if you’re the Mavericks, it’s a big emotional release and now fans can get on board for next year.”
Mike Harmon: “You look at a squad and a city and I know there are some who feel they should do this, but it’s a good cleansing for the fans and everybody as you say. I like that Luka and his people were petty and didn’t let the Mavericks take advantage of different business opportunities. The issue now is, as a franchise...you’ve gotta figure out where those funds are coming back from. It’s like the Angels losing Shohei Ohtani.”
On this edition of The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon, Jason Smith and Mike Harmon reacted to Luka Doncic’s return to Dallas in the Lakers win over the Mavericks, and how it signals that the Mavericks can finally start moving on from the trade.
