Dwight Howard will be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, Class of 2025, and he joins Dan Patrick on the Dan Patrick Show to talk about his journey to "basketball heaven." He talks about breaking down in tears when he heard the news.
Dan Patrick: "What was your reaction when you got the call for the Hall of Fame?"
Dwight Howard: "Man, I cried so hard. It's just like, the first day as soon as I got the call, seeing the name, 'The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame,' calling my phone, you know, seeing that and then hearing them actually say you have made it in to one out of 456 people who have been in the Hall of Fame for basketball; I just, every memory of basketball that started, my youngest memory, you know my first basketball goal, watching my Magic Johnson tapes and then just the tears start flowing. And man, it's just an incredible journey with a lot of ups and downs, but to make it to basketball heaven is, for me it's everything."
